Opportunities at the Center for Pets:

Adoption Counselor – Part-time – Adoption Counselors help community members find a new pet and ensures that it is a good match to their household and that the needs of the pets are being met while keeping an open non-judgmental counseling approach.  They will provide marketing and adoption promotion ideas and help with promoting the pets at our center.  We are seeking positive people who are able to multi-task, want to help people, possess great communication skills, good writers, comfortable with handling dogs and cats, outgoing with an engaging personality who have customer service experience.  Must be comfortable using tablets and computers and able to learn our animal sheltering software.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.  This is an entry level hourly position in the $8 range. Licensed Veterinary Technician or LVT student – Full Time – We are seeking a vet tech to work along side our shelter vet on our medical team.  The job includes medicating, testing, treating, vaccinating, giving TLC and basically helping pets get healthy so they can be adopted.    If you are a dedicated, trust worthy, reliable person who isn’t afraid of hard work, in fact, thrives on being busy then please apply. Opportunities at our Spay/Neuter Clinic:

Front Desk Associate- Full Time – We are seeking a friendly, hardworking, organized individual for our fast-paced spay/neuter clinic and mobile clinic.  We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, someone able to multitask with time management skills  and willing to be an active team member.  This position involves preparing bank deposits, invoicing, data entry, scheduling appointments and other tasks assigned by the clinic manager.   Must be proficient on a computer, ability to learn our clinic software, experienced in Microsoft Office, and have some accounting experience.  This position starts at $8.50/hour.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) Benefits include – paid time off, medical insurance and IRA start after 60 days.

Medical Associate – We perform approximately 35 surgeries per day 4 days per week. This translates to someone that has the ability to work from 7:00am until 3:00-5:00pm Monday through Thursday but be flexible based on surgery schedule. This is approximately 36 hours per week at a starting pay of $8 per hour. You will perform many functions such as checking in dogs and cats, prepping animals for surgery, cleaning cages, laundry, cleaning the building (sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, etc)  cleaning up after the pets, front office computer duties, preparing vaccines, and administering microchips.

Licensed Vet Tech – Seeking an LVT or LVT student for our spay and neuter clinic in Evington VA. Full-time or part time schedule available.  LVT students must have passed their Pharmocology course. Duties involve, but are not limited to, surgical assisting, vaccination and medication of surgical patients, patient check-in, drug log maintenance, and vaccine clinic appointments. Willingness to cross train and fill in other positions is essential. The clinic serves 7 counties surrounding Lynchburg City, accepting between 100-150 patients a week.  Our small staff thrives in a fast paced environment that is dedicated to quality animal care for both shelter and public animals. Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience and schedule.
