Pet Care – part-time, mornings – We are seeking a hard working pet lover to care for the pets at the the Center for Pets. Our Pet Care Associates provide a clean and safe environment for the pets to live while waiting to find their new home. Pet Care Associates are responsible to feed, water, clean, and provide enrichment for all the pets in our care. Applicant must be able to lift 50 lb bags of litter/pet food and be able to bend to clean low surfaces. This is also an entry level, hourly position starting in the $8/hr range. Opportunities at our Spay/Neuter Clinic:
LVT/LVT Student – full-time or part-time – Seeking an LVT or LVT student for our spay and neuter clinic in Evington VA. Full-time or part time schedule available. LVT students must have passed their Pharmocology course. Duties involve, but are not limited to, surgical assisting, vaccination and medication of surgical patients, patient check-in, drug log maintenance, and vaccine clinic appointments. Willingness to cross train and fill in other positions is essential. The clinic serves 7 counties surrounding Lynchburg City, accepting between 100-150 patients a week. Our small staff thrives in a fast paced environment that is dedicated to quality animal care for both shelter and public animals.
Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience and work schedule. We are regularly open Monday-Thursday, 7am-4:30pm. LVTs work only four Saturdays a year. Veterinarian – We are seeking a full time or part time Virginia licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our elite, award winning team at our Spay Neuter Clinic in Evington. This position will work 1-4 days per week Monday through Thursday performing up to 40 surgeries per day with a willingness to do whatever it takes to fulfill our mission of a dedication to helping Lynchburg’s pets through sheltering, adoption, spay/neuter programs, education and community outreach. You will be an integral part to our vision of helping to create a community where all lives are valued and respected. We envision achieving zero tolerance for ending the lives of savable pets in the Lynchburg community. You must also be able to operate within our core values. This highly functioning team led by two dedicated doctors have positively affected over 60,000 pets since the clinic’s beginning 2006. You will also have the distinction of being part of the industry leading Lynchburg Humane Society and will have the opportunity to be a part of designing and implementation of a brand new medical facility that moves Lynchburg forward in shelter medicine, spay neuter and community engagement.
