Shelter Manager – Full-time exempt.  We are seeking an innovative leader with a minimum of 3 years of sheltering experience and experience managing a large staff.   This position oversees operational departments to include admissions, adoption center, animal care, facilities, and volunteers. Responsible for assuring a high level of service, compliance with policies and mandates, data reporting, and adherence to approved budgets. Opportunities at the Main Center for Pets:

Adoption Counselor – part-time –  help community members find a new pet and ensures that it is a good match to their household and that the needs of the pets are being met while keeping an open, non-judgmental friendly counseling approach.  Our adoption counselors will provide marketing and adoption promotion ideas and help with promoting the pets at the center.  Along with assisting with adoptions they will field other questions and be helpful to all people seeking assistance at the new center.  We are seeking positive people who are able to multi-task, want to help people, possess great communication skills, good writers, comfortable with handling dogs and cats, outgoing with an engaging personality who have customer service experience.  Must be comfortable using tablets and computers and able to learn our animal sheltering software. Animal Care – part time – We are seeking an energetic animal lover that is comfortable working within a fast paced team environment.  Responsibilities are to maintain a healthy, clean, safe and pleasant environment for the animals in our care.  We are looking for responsible, energetic, hard working person with pleasant demeanor when interacting with the public, willing to work weekends and some holidays. Opportunities at our Spay/Neuter Clinic:

Medical Associate – We perform approximately 35 surgeries per day 4 days per week. This translates to someone that has the ability to work from 7:00am until 3:00-5:00pm Monday through Thursday but be flexible based on surgery schedule. This is approximately 36 hours per week at a starting pay of $8 per hour. You will perform many functions such as checking in dogs and cats, prepping animals for surgery, cleaning cages, laundry, cleaning the building (sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, etc)  cleaning up after the pets, front office computer duties, preparing vaccines, and administering microchips.

Licensed Vet Tech – Seeking an LVT or LVT student for our spay and neuter clinic in Evington VA.  Three day weekends, very flexible schedule, no evenings.  Mon – Thursday schedule. Full-time or part time schedule available.  LVT students must have passed their Pharmocology course. Duties involve, but are not limited to, surgical assisting, vaccination and medication of surgical patients, patient check-in, drug log maintenance, and vaccine clinic appointments. Willingness to cross train and fill in other positions is essential. The clinic serves 7 counties surrounding Lynchburg City, accepting between 100-150 patients a week.  Our small staff thrives in a fast paced environment that is dedicated to quality animal care for both shelter and public animals. Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience and schedule.
