Opportunities at the Main Center for Pets:

Opportunities at our Appomattox Center:

Opportunities at our Spay/Neuter Clinic:

Transport driver/kennel/vet assistant – full-time Lynchburg Humane Society’s spay neuter clinic in Evington, Virginia is looking to hire a full-time transport driver/kennel-vet assistant position.  We are seeking someone that loves cats and dogs and is comfortable handling many breeds under stress and in new and challenging situations.  You must also love to interact with pet owners in a positive and informative manner and be able to communicate medical information to the owners, collect money and be helpful with animal care questions.  You will need to have a clean driving record and be able to maneuver a large van in and out of tight spaces and garages while maintaining the safety of the animals.  You must be prompt to work, organized, be able to handle money, become familiar with animal care instructions, be clean and smile.  You are the traveling face of the clinic and you will be interacting with other rescue organizations along with other pet owners/adopters.  If you think you are the right candidate for this position, please submit the Employment Questionnaire and Application to following to Reese@lynchburghumane.org and read our Core Values on our Mission & Vision Page, no phone calls please. This is a FULL TIME with benefits position that has a FOUR (4) DAY WORK WEEK.  We typically work Monday through Thursday.  The transport driver will need to have the flexibility to occasionally work 6:15am to 6:00pm.  The typical schedule is 6:45-4:45.  We work 6 Saturdays a YEAR.  No Nights and No weekends.  Please see attached job description.  Interested candidates should fill out the application and questionnaire and send to reese@lynchburghumane.org

LVT/LVT Student – full-time or part-time – Seeking an LVT or LVT student for our spay and neuter clinic in Evington VA. Full-time or part time schedule available. LVT students must have passed their Pharmocology course. Duties involve, but are not limited to, surgical assisting, vaccination and medication of surgical patients, patient check-in, drug log maintenance, and vaccine clinic appointments. Willingness to cross train and fill in other positions is essential. The clinic serves 7 counties surrounding Lynchburg City, accepting between 100-150 patients a week. Our small staff thrives in a fast paced environment that is dedicated to quality animal care for both shelter and public animals.

Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience and work schedule. We are regularly open Monday-Thursday, 7am-4:30pm. LVTs work only four Saturdays a year.
