Sweet Rosamel has a story to tell! It starts off pretty sad, but she’s hoping you can help with the happy ending! Rosamel and her siblings were brought to LHS back in September of 2023. They were small, weak, and sick. The litter spent months in foster with a medical staff member trying to get big and strong enough for adoption. One by one, all the siblings were cleared to graduate to the adoption floor and found happy homes. All except Rosamel. Rosamel is what we call a “chronic kitty” but it hasn’t slowed her down ONE BIT. She is likely to have some level of noisy breathing or a little bit of nasal discharge for her entire life. But since this is the only life she’s known, it doesn’t phase her at all! Her foster spent days and nights when Rosamel was a kitten propping her mouth open so she could breathe enough to get some sleep. Rosamel has had 2 procedures to open her airway enough so that this isn’t a problem anymore and she can now rest through the night without issue! She’s been through MONTHS of antibiotics, antivirals, nasal flushes and so much more. Throughout all of it, Rosamel still has only love to give and wants nothing more than to run around and chase toys and then snuggle into your neck and purr. Rosamel has spent over a year and a half in our care and is still looking for her home. If you can find it in your heart to love this perfectly imperfect princess, come on in any time we’re open.
