Titan’s Second Chance

Help Save Titan the Rottweiler! Update: We did it!

UPDATE:

Our staff and Titan himself are excited to share the news that Titan is going to his training program thanks to YOU! In less than 24 hours this amazing community rallied behind Titan and raised more than enough funds to send him to his board and train. Titan is getting his second chance! With a grand total of $2,341.90 from Facebook and website donations, the remaining funds will be used for the next dog that needs this program like Titan.

UPDATE: Titan completed his training program and is adopted!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to every single donor, supporter, and sharer of Titan’s story!

This is long, but important so please read. We need your help.

This is Titan. You may not recognize him even though he is one of our longest-stay dogs.  If there was ever a good boy who needed a second chance from an understanding community, it is Titan.

As an organization, we are committed to giving second chances to those who need it most. For the sick, for the lost, and for those who have nowhere else to turn to, we are here to find their path to happiness. However, we wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of our pet-loving community. And right now, we need your help.

As a 118-pound Rottweiler, Titan may look like a big tough cookie, but truthfully, Titan is the one feeling scared. After growing up in one house with one family, he found himself here in June of 2021. His world was flooded with new sounds, environments, and people. For any dog, a shelter environment can be stressful and scary, but for Titan, it’s been even harder. While Titan has slowly built a bond with our Behavior Team, introducing him to new people is still a challenge.

Titan loves to play fetch and does happy taps with his feet when his staff buddies give him pets, but meeting new people normally involves fear: a big bark from a big boy. This is how Titan says “you’re new and scary, please move away.” While we understand Titan’s feelings, meeting new people is a necessary part of finding his home. Our primary goal has been and is to build Titan’s confidence to help him meet potential adopters as his true feet-tapping, fetch loving-self. Our Behavior Team has been dedicated to helping Titan, but sometimes a shelter simply isn’t the place for a pet to feel better.

Titan has made all the progress he can in this environment and isn’t ready to be adopted. Through extensive research, our Training and Behavior manager found an excellent training program that comes highly recommended by other trusted organizations and colleagues in Animal Welfare. In this training program, Titan will live in an experienced trainer’s home, get a much-needed break from the shelter, and learn the skills he needs to be adopted. We are hopeful and confident that this is Titan’s missing step on his path to finding happiness in a home of his own. To give Titan his second chance, we need your help to raise $2,000 to fund his training program. Help us save this big, misunderstood, boy. If you’d like to contribute to Titan’s second chance, please donate on this page.

We will keep you updated on our goal!
