Louie was skin and bone when he arrived. He was emaciated and lethargic but refusing to eat. We sent him to animal emergency where they closely monitored him, ran tests, and did x-rays. All the while the sweet personality of the dog we’d all come to know and love was peeking through, even in his pain. At animal emergency, the problem was revealed in his x-ray. There was an obstruction in his intestines. But as they prepped him for surgery, by some miracle, Louie expelled a sock! And before we knew it he was eating his first meal in weeks, and the rest was history!! These days, Louie no longer eats socks as he now has regular meals and a staff that love, care for, and adore him. Louie is playful and silly, and just loves to be near you. Louie recently spent time in a foster home where he did great with other dogs and kids, and even got to ride a fourwheeler! He will make a great companion and after such an incredible recovery he deserves to start his new life as soon as possible, but he can’t do that here in the shelter! If you've somehow missed the news, Louie is one of our pets of the month which means his adoption fee is half off! Stop by anytime to meet him or email [email protected] with questions.
