He’s a very expressive cat. His meows are easy to tell apart, so it’s obvious when he’s annoyed, wants to play, or wants you to follow him to turn on the bathtub to drink water from lol. Hamton is pretty silly when it comes to eating his food or drinking water. He knocks the food out of his bowl and sometimes dips his paw in the water bowl to drink the water off his paw. He doesn’t have great “table manners,” so he’ll need someone who has a bit more patience for cleaning up. He loves a good wire brushing session (especially on his cheeks) and enjoys treats and a blanket in your lap to make biscuits on. He shows great interest in going outside and, while he is timid in new spaces, his curiosity gets the better of him. I think he would eventually love a harness or catio situation if trained properly. Hamton is pretty particular about his space when it comes to dogs. I think he would do well in a home with a dog who was indifferent to cats, but not easily bullied. My dog is not super confident, so if he accidentally gets too close to Hamton (even when he’s just walking by and not making eye contact, or doesn’t realize he’s hiding in the shadows), Hamton will hiss and bat at him, causing him to cower and run to me for comfort!
