Medical Scribe and Data Entry Volunteer

Our Medical Team needs volunteers to help enter their medical exam notes into our shelter database. This would be most fitting for someone with a medical scribing background, but someone with previous data entry experience could pick it up pretty quickly too! 

This position includes on-site training for the software, our paperwork system, and ongoing support from the Data Entry, Volunteer,  and Medical Teams.

Lynchburg Humane Society Dog Walk Volunteer

We need YOU to help us take shelter dogs on their favorite activity: going for a walk! The highlight of every day for a shelter pet is when they get to soak up the sun in our play yards or sniff all of nature’s smells on our beautiful trails with their human buddies. It helps get their energy out, gives our snuggle bugs a chance to get their cuddles in, and provides a fun outlet while we work to find them an adopter or foster! Our staff love taking the dogs out for walks, but with anywhere from 80-120 dogs in our care at a time it’s hard to give everyone as many walks or as much time outside as they want. That’s where you come in! We’d love for you to join us in our goal to walk every dog, every day, multiple times a day. We provide you with everything you need: a leash, collar/harness, training, toys, and, of course, a very happy pup!
