Meet your Trainer! Mai Reynolds, CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed)
Mai has been a voice for animals since childhood, starting with imaginative adventures for her dogs. As a teen, she worked at a vet clinic and fostered pets. Mai put her degree in Performing Arts to good use and took her first animal training job with a live animal show at a local zoo. She had the honor of performing and training with animals of all shapes and sizes! Mai’s work with rescued exotic animals spurred a lifetime passion for rescued pets. This led to roles in shelters across Florida, where she became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. Mai has helped rehabilitate countless animals and now serves as the Behavior and Training Manager at the Lynchburg Humane Society, where she is excited to continue to support pets and their people through expert training and compassionate care.
Nice List 101 Workshop!
Welcome to LHS’ Nice List 101 Workshop! This 4-week class is taught by Mai Reynolds, CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed) ; she also serves as the Behavior & Training Manager at the Lynchburg Humane Society. This workshop serves as a quick brush-up on manners or an excellent foundation for basic training! Please come with a well fitted collar or harness, no prong collars, or retractable leashes please! We’re ho ho hoping you can join us for this fun workshop!
- 4 Tuesdays, December 2, 2025 – December 23, 2025, we will meet from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm
- For dogs 6 months and older
- $110 for the 4-week class
- Vaccine Requirements: Your dog must be up-to-date on Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies vaccines to participate
Training Series: Advanced Training
Welcome to Advanced Training! This 7-week class is taught by Mai Reynolds, CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed); she also serves as the Behavior & Training Manager at the Lynchburg Humane Society. This course continues to enhance skills for real-life situations so that your dog can behave reliably in any context! We look forward to getting started!
- 7 Saturdays: December 6, 2025 – January 17, 2025, we will meet every Saturday from 4:30pm- 5:15pm.
- For dogs 6 months and older
- Advanced Training courses are $165 for the 7-week class
- Prerequisites: To take this class, you and your dog must pass the Intermediate Training class or an equivalent outside training class.
- Vaccine Requirements: Your dog must be up-to-date on Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies vaccines to participate
Puppy Social
Puppy social is in session! If you have a puppy, bring them in for our class where they can let some of that puppy energy out with other local pups.
- Puppies 4 months and younger
- Puppy Social is $10 per class, per puppy.
