We Were Adopted! April 18th – April 24th.

44 Pets Found Happiness this week, including W. Worm Esquire!

Some of you may know him as W. Worm Esquire, short for Wiggle Worm Esquire, long for Worm. A couple of weeks ago we posted on social media for a debate on if we should change W. Worm Esquire’s name to something else, simply Worm or even Miles, and we got a lot of feedback on that! Everyone really loved the name Worm and thought it really made him stand out. Some also really liked the name Wiggles! Which really fits his personality.

Well, we never got to decide what we were going to do about Worm’s name because not too long after he got adopted! W. Worm Esquire now has a family of his own and who knows, maybe a new name for this new journey.

We want to say thank you to his adoption fee sponsors, his new dad, and thank you to our sponsors at Petco Love for making these adoptions possible!

Suki along with 50 other Pets found Happiness this week!

Meet sweet, 5 year old Suki.

Suki is a special lady with an adorable, smooshed face, a raspy meow, and no teeth! Yep, you heard that right! As you can see, she’s perfectly fine without teeth, and looks down on others who need them to chew.

Suki hung out in our cat condos waiting for that special someone to come and make her part of their family and this week that finally happened! We couldn’t be more excited for them.

We are so blessed to be able to find homes for each of these deserving pets, like Suki. Thank you so much to our adopters, and thank you to our sponsors at Petco Love for making these adoptions possible!

We are all smiles for Smiley and the 26 other pets that Found Happiness this week!

A day we have been waiting for! Happy girl Smiley was adopted this week! Smiley was a volunteer and staff favorite, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her new dad!

Smiley was a big hit when it came to our Petcation program. (What is Petcation? It is where members of the public can come in and take a dog out for an adventure day!) Her now dad took her out on a Petcation and fell head over heels for her and decided to make her part of his family.

We want to thank Alexis and Matthew Mann for sponsoring Smiley’s adoption fee, and thank you to Petco Love for helping to make this adoption and so many more possible.

longest stay Connie found her match along with 25 other pets this week!

This beautiful calico loaf is Connie 💕

Many of you may recognize Connie from our Cat Condos. Not too long ago we decided Connie needed a change of scenery, away from the hustle and bustle of shelter life. Our Executive Director, Jill, was kind enough to open up her office as a relaxing sanctuary for Connie and she started feeling more like herself! After just a few short days Connie started purring, making lots of biscuits, sunbathing, and enjoying the view from her new work desk.

Connie was our longest-stay resident, and in overwhelming environments, Connie was known for being shy and reserved. But we learned from her previous fosters and more recently Jill, that Connie is just as social as any other cat! She loves people-watching, chasing lasers, and even rolling around in cat nip! Connie is the type of girl who will sleep all day and enjoy her food as a midnight snack.

Connie went into foster care with potential adopters, and we all crossed our fingers and waited to find out if it was going to be a match, and we finally got the email that they wanted to officially make her part of their family! They love her so much and even said that she has made friends with their other cat. We are so happy for her and her new family.

We want to say thank you to Lynchburg Jewelry and Loan for sponsoring Connie’s adoption fee and thank you to Petco Love for making adoptions like this possible!

We said farewell to Lieutenant Dan and 36 other Pets this week!

If you follow us on social media, you probably saw Lieutenant Dan and his adoption video. (If you don’t, check us out!) Happy boy Lieutenant Dan found his match this weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited for this senior pup.

Lieutenant Dan came to us back in January with a few medical concerns, but just a couple days in the hands of our medical team, he was up and ready for adoption in no time! His favorite thing while being here at the Center was going on long strolls with his staff buddies, and we are so happy that he now gets to go on walks with his new family!

We want to say thank you to his adopters, as well as Haley Campbell who sponsored Lt. Dan’s adoption fee, as we as Petco Love for making adoptions like this possible!
