Nina, Gracie and 86 of their friends found happiness for the New Year!

Nina (left) and Gracie (right) came into our care mid-December with two other siblings not eating and dehydrated. They ended up testing positive for Canine Parvovirus. Our medical team went to work to help these four puppies. Caring for Parvo patients is incredibly hard on our staff and our organization. It requires constant care and managing of symptoms including medicine, IV fluids, special diets, and oftentimes even hand feeding patients. Sadly, two of the puppies did pass away to the virus. Nina and Gracie fought hard, and they overcame parvo with the constant help from our medical team!

These two girls became available for adoption on Sunday and were immediately adopted by two different loving families! We are so happy for Nina and Gracie and their new families.

Bocce Ball and 72 of his friends found happiness this week!

Bocce Ball came into our care back in July with siblings when he was just a month old. Our medical team soon discovered that Bocce had a spinal injury that was causing him to have trouble walking with his hindlegs. He was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia or as some call it Spastic Cat Syndrome or Wobbly Cat Syndrome. Bocce Ball soon started making weekly visits to Peaks View for acupuncture to help with his spine in hopes of helping him walk better. He has a long road ahead of him, but Bocce Ball has stayed in good kitten spirits, never letting his condition slow him down. He loves playing with his staff friends, foster friends, and even got to join in on a class of Cat Yoga where he won the hearts of everyone in class.

A little over a week ago a staff member reached out to one of our board members who has a soft spot for pets like Bocce Ball and it didn’t take long for her and her husband to decide that Bocce Ball needed to become part of their family! They came in and adopted him on the 21st and gave Bocce a home for Christmas!

His name is now Hobbs and has completely stolen their hearts and made himself right at home. (The picture on the left is after a game of kitten zoomies.)

Newt and 54 of his friends found homes for the holiday this week!

If you’ve been to the Center lately, you’ve probably seen Newt hanging out in our Living Room with his feline friends. You’ve also probably tried to pet him, and he quickly run away from you. Newt is one of the sweetest cats, but very nervous around crowds and people, which has made him finding a home a bit of a challenge.

A lovely couple came in specifically for Newt on Sunday. They had recently lost their 10-year-old blue-eyed Siamese/Snowshoe mix named Colby and felt like something was missing in their home. They had spotted Newt and his bright eyes on our website and just new that it was fate that they should come in and meet him.

After some help from staff members, they were able to meet Newt and they fell in love. They know they have a long journey ahead of them with Newt being so nervous and shy, but they are up for the challenge. We are so happy for them and this new journey together and hope Newt fills that empty spot that their sweet Colby left.

Zackary found happiness, along with 75 of his friends!

When Zackary first came into our care, he was scared and unsure of who to trust. Despite this, Zackary never gave up. With some extra love from staff and plenty of peanut butter, Zackary showed us his amazing courage, perseverance, and most importantly, a strong desire to connect with someone. What started with a first walk out of the kennel quickly became an open door to an amazing personality! He is silly, bouncy, playful, and a truly loyal friend.

Over the weekend, a lovely family came in who had recently lost their boxer. One of our team members told them about Zackary and they decided to meet him, and it was love at first sight! They couldn’t get enough of his sweet, goofy self, so they decided to make him part of their family! We are so happy for Zackary and his new family and hope they have the best adventures together.

Have you ever seen a cuter smile?! Sweet Tina came to us as a lost pet and we all instantly fell in love with her adorable smile and peppy personality. We made a post on social media about Tina and her cute personality, and it didn’t take long for adopters to start reaching out to us. Sweet Tina found a home, a family, and happiness on Friday! We are so happy for her and her new family.
