Kiwi was rescued from a hoarding case and now she is home!

Sweet Kiwi, who we transferred in with three other dogs as part of a rescue of 106 dogs in Henry County, was terrified. She had never seen the world outside of the pen she was kept in. She wouldn’t let anyone touch hers, and she would hide and tremble in her room when folks stopped to look at her cute face. But little did she know that her world was about to change forever!!

After a few weeks with some of our very patient and gentle-handed staff, we slowly won Kiwi over! We were able to get her groomed and her matts taken care of. And one day, a lovely couple came in to meet her. They were touched by her story and fell in love the moment they met her. They decided the journey would be worth it to get her feeling like a normal pup someday! The great news is, the journey was much shorter than they expected!

Kiwi now goes by Zoey, and she is a completely different dog! Her new parents describe her as “pure sugar,” and say she has great house manners and has done so well with her leash training, usually staying right by their side!! Thank you so much to Zoey’s adopters for changing her life.
