Cholula and 47 of her friends found happiness this week!

Cholula came into our care in January of 2023. It didn’t take us long to learn that Cholula was an independent girlie who preferred her space. She loves the company of other cats; she just isn’t really the biggest fan of us humans. She spent most of her days hanging out in our porch room with her bestie Yzma, and also got a break from the shelter by spending time in a foster home.

Last week we had someone come in asking about Cholula! They wanted a cat that would be okay with being a “working cat” or “barn cat”. The low maintenance kind of cat, which is exactly what Cholula is. She was the perfect match for what they were looking for and ended up adopting her! After almost a year and a half of being at the Center, Cholula is finally getting a home where her independent behavior will be understood, and we couldn’t be happier for this loner girl.

Simone and 36 of her friends found happiness this week!

Sweet Simone was transferred to us last April from Bedford and spent most of her days hiding in her condo with her sister. Simone was afraid of life at the Center, but who can blame her? It’s a big space with lots of sounds. Over the last year we worked with Simone on her confidence and showing her that humans aren’t so scary, and it worked! Simone started coming out of her hiding space and “talking” to everyone that past by her condo. Though she still wasn’t as confident with being pet, she wanted people to know she was there. Her sister ended up getting adopted a couple months ago and we were afraid that without her, Simone would go back to her old ways of hiding from everyone and lose all the confidence she had gained. Luckily, that didn’t happen! Simone became chatty as ever to get people to stop by and say hello. Thanks to all that confidence she gained, Simone was adopted on Friday! She now has a new family to learn and grow with!

Toni and 41 of her friends found happiness this week!

Sweet and bashful Toni came into our care a year ago. Toni spent most of her time here in a cat condo people watching from the highest point. She had many staff buddies, but due to her shy personality it was hard for her to stand out to potential adopters.

Over the weekend a man came in looking for a new friend to spend time with him at work. He saw Toni and immediately fell in love. He told our adoption counselor that Toni reminded him of a cat he had before that he spent every day with at his shop. He knew that she was the one and decided to adopt! We are so happy for Toni and this new adventure for her and her new dad.

Dana and 15 of her friends found happiness this week!

Sweet Dana came into our care a year ago and she has had many adventures here since then! She got to attend Cat Yoga where she greeted everyone and even stole a mat or two when she was tired of participating to take a nap. She joined in on the Share Greater Lynchburg lunch that we held here where she got to socialize and learn with everyone who attended. Dana even got to join in on Pawcasso night, getting to help all the artist! When we had Spring Camp Happiness, the kids couldn’t wait to go and visit Dana and she would get so excited when they did.

Needless to say, Dana LOVES people and attention. So, when a gentleman came in on Friday looking for a feline companion, it didn’t take long for him to fall in love with Dana and her social personality. We are so happy that she finally found a family to love her as much as we do.

Lady and 38 of her friends found happiness this week!

Sweet Lady came into our care in September of 2022. She made many friends during her time with us between staff and volunteers. Everyone always had such sweet things to say about her and adored her crooked smile. Lady loved nothing more than her buddies, well maybe swimming and playing in water, but we like to think she loved us more. Lady spent a lot of time in and out of foster care where she was spoiled by her foster families, as well as went on multiple adventure day petcations as well as slumber party petcations.

On Sunday Lady finally found happiness! Lady’s new mom came in and fell in love with her and decided to make her a part of their family! She now has three human siblings to love on, too! We are so happy for Lady and her new family.
