Luca and 29 of his friends found happiness this week!

Luca came to us in December lethargic, and skin and bones. He appeared to have been living on his own for a long time. Hungry…starving, eating whatever he could find.

Our wonderful veterinarian knew right away when she first laid eyes on him that he had a foreign object in his intestines. She and our Medical Team prepped him for surgery. It was much worse than we thought, and they had to remove a large section of his intestines. In the short time that he’s been with us, Luca thrived! His surgery site has healed, he has started to gain weight back, and he has made so many friends here at LHS. Our staff has learned that he is a super goofy boy who loves to spend time outside!

Luca went into a foster home mid-January, and it didn’t take long for his foster parents to fall in love with him. So much in fact that they decided to make it official and adopted Luca! Luca has come so far, and we are so happy for him and his new family!
