Amulet and 63 of her friends found happiness this week!

Sweet Amulet came into our care back in February. Our staff immediately fell in love with her and her charming personality. She is a bundle of energy and loves being able to go on walks and really enjoys going on the trails with her favorite treats of course. She also loves to cuddle in the play yards after she gets her zoomies out.

On Saturday a wonderful family came in wanting to meet Amulet! It was love at first sight as they immediately fell in love with her just like we did here at the Center. As you can see in her adoption photo, Amulet now has a whole family to spoil her and give her all the cuddles. We are so happy for Amulet and her knew family!

Banjo and 67 of his friends found happiness this week!

Sweet Banjo came into our care back in February of this year and the staff and volunteers quickly fell in love with him. A volunteer left a sweet note that we feel sums him up perfectly. She said, “Banjo is such a sweet, gentle soul. He navigates his space quite well for a blind dog. He is easily guided by the sound of your voice. He enjoys sniffing around outside and “tasting” the smells. The sweetest boy.”

Banjo got to spend time out of the Center with a couple different fosters who loved him just as much as we do. One of his foster moms said that his favorite activity is sunbathing on the front porch and that he enjoyed the company of her dogs.

Last Monday Banjo went on an adoption trial with an amazing couple, and they decided to finalize the adoption and make Banjo a permanent part of their family yesterday! He is already being extremely spoiled in his new home and we are so happy for him.

Adelaide and 44 of her friends found happiness this week!

Little Adelaide and her siblings came over a month ago very sick. They ended up testing positive for Panleukopenia (Panleuk). Our medical team quickly went to work to help Adelaide and her siblings to get them better and get back to normal kitten shenanigans.

We are so happy to say that all three kittens kicked Panleuk! They graduated last week from foster care and Adalaide and her brother Billy Boss already found new families!

Briar and 46 of his friends Found Happiness this week!

Briar and his siblings came to LHS when they were just six weeks old. All of these sweet kittens were found in dire need of medical attention. They were thin and fighting various illnesses and infections. We began treating them with a special diet and medication. As you can probably tell from his photo (right), Briar, along with his other ailments, had severe eye issues. Briar had chronic ocular disease, which was causing elevated third eyelids and vascularized corneas. This not only made it hard for him to see but was also uncomfortable and painful.

We made Briar and his siblings more comfortable with treatments to help their infections, fluids to help with their dehydration, and food and love to help them gain weight. Our veterinarians treated Briar’s eyes in hopes of saving his eyes and sight, but the treatments only provided temporary relief. Briar’s eyes, however, were not able to be healed. About two weeks ago our medical team performed a double enucleation surgery, which is the removal of both Briar’s eyes.

As all happy endings go, Briar made a full recovery, gained lots of weight, and got very spoiled in his foster home with one of our staff members. We are happy to say that Brier was adopted over the weekend by one of that staff members friends and will have a LHS Alumni sibling that is also blind!

Treasure and 36 of her friends found happiness!

“One man’s trash is another man’s Treasure”

Treasure, now Molly, was found rummaging through the trash by the good people you see here. They have adopted from us before so when they found Molly, they immediately brought her to LHS. Their attachment to her was strong, and when they knew she was healthy enough to go home with their other dogs they fostered her while she regained her strength and started to feel safe again. Before we knew it Molly was a brand-new dog, and they were finalizing their adoption.

Molly is so grateful to be alive today and so ready to spend the rest of her days with the amazing people who saved her life. Thank you for adopting, and thank you for saving Molly
