Tator Tot and 64 other Pets found Happiness!

Every time a pet comes through our doors, we are ready to jump in and provide whatever we need to do for them. Some need more help than others. And some bring us to tears…this was the case with Tater Tot when we first saw him. This 10-month-old Great Pyrenees pup was severely emaciated, weighing just under 30 pounds. He also suffered from fleas, hair loss, sores, and a muscle-wasted body. Being muscle-wasted caused him to not have much strength to stand or walk and is likely caused by not being able to exercise while growing. Upon intake, Tater Tot received immediate care including the beginning of a strict meal plan and diet, immunizations, and collections for tests to diagnose possible parasites. He was loved on by many staff members while he was here (pictured left with Medical Team member Hannah and right with Adoption counselor Mack) and our very own Dr. Dunn decided to take Tator Tot home as a foster pet as well to help him get better.

Flash forward into that fostering and we had a complete “foster fail”! Tater Tot was adopted by our very own, wonderful, Dr. Dunn this week and he is doing AMAZING! He is making many new friends – the resident pets and a sweet human baby as you can see in the updated picture we got. He has gained 13 pounds since being in our care and is getting stronger every day. Tater Tot went from barely being able to stand to being able to run! Dr. Dunn said he will start training classes in March and is officially in love with her human baby and the baby loves him too.

Whiskey and 46 other Pets Found Happiness this week!

Sweet Whiskey came into our care in March of 2022. She instantly became a favorite amongst our staff with her kind and well, sweet personality!

Whiskey was one of our first pups to try out our new tutoring foster program! Tutoring is a short term (usually weekend) foster placement for our dogs and is all about learning what our dogs like, want, and need in home environments, and teaching our dogs that homes and people are great things! Whiskey’s foster, Gabby had nothing but amazing things to say about her. She absolutely loved taking Whiskey home on the weekends and spoiling her.

Turns out, all the spotlight on this sweet girl caught the eye of a gentleman who drove over 200 miles to adopt and take Whiskey home! We couldn’t be more excited for Whiskey and her new family.

Paddington and 62 other Pets found happiness this week!

Paddington the dog arrived at the Center for Pets at the end of 2022 as a lost pet in need of immediate medical care. Paddington was battling painful, inflamed skin issues covering most of his body and had ear infections in both ears. Paddington received immediate care from our Medical Team including a thorough exam, diagnosis, and treatment. Thanks to the amazing work of both our medical team and our pet care team, Paddington made a full recovery and became available for adoption!

This happy go lucky boy never let any of that get him down and he even made himself a best friend named Marisa who came to see him every day while he was waiting to be adopted.

We are so happy to say that Paddington finally found a family to call his own this past week!

Everyone’s favorite greeter, Cheerio found happiness this week! Cheerio was our most talkative cat at the Center, chatting up everyone who walked in. She finally sparked up a conversation with the right person and found herself a family! We are so happy for Cheerio and her new mom!

Queen Lavender went home to her castle, as well as 39 other pets found happiness this week!

Lavender spent most of her time here at the Center watching out of her tower in hopes of finding the one person that could match her unique personality. Finally, her person came this week, and it was love at first sight for them both. This green-eyed beauty finally has her own castle to call home and a family to love and adore her.
